Author / Writer: Reading about Fol Cinema Showings from the Posters

A writing term Author, is used for those who emphasize creativity and artistic features in their writings. The work comes from the same roots as “authority”. The term Writer, on the other hand, actually refers to ‘news writer’ who does not use artistic features and rather focuses on the information itself.

During the talk named ‘Author / Writer’, the graphic designer Sarp Sözdinler is going to address the visual design choices of a cultural formation from 24 posters Fol Cinema have used for their movie showings up until today.

We are going to talk about how the role of the designers of today has evolved from finding communication based functional solutions to creating, editing of even making decisions about the content, as well as the possible bilateral and motional transformation of the institution whose visuals are presented.

Sarp Sözdinler is going to talk about Fol Cinema, experimental cinema, design and design-related questions/problems together with his personal experience.
