How to enhance everyday experience of the city

Every baby is born learning.
Every experience shapes child development.
Every design decision influences that experience.

Every decision made in urban environments influences the experiences of childhood: for the child, the caregiver and their interactions together. This workshop will explore the day to day journeys of children and caregivers, asking how can cities, developers and designers positively influence everyday experiences in the city?

We'll consider the different types of journeys happening in the city. We'll explore the needs, fears and desires for journeys from the perspective of children and caregivers. We'll build our own journey through the city and generate ideas for urban interventions that can enhance the experience of the city in our day to day lives.
