Beyza is at Walk21 in Tirana

Street transformation isn’t just about plans and policies — it’s about people.
In October 2025, as part of Walk21 Foundation and the Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF), we ran Street Fighters — a role-playing workshop developed together with Görsev Argın Uz.

Walk21 Foundation

The workshop places participants inside the real-life complexities of urban change — where creativity meets constraints and outcomes are never predictable.

Participants step into the shoes of municipal officers, children, shopkeepers, parents, and neighborhood representatives, navigating scenarios inspired by real street transformation projects from Türkiye.

Through play, discussion, and unexpected twists, the workshop opens up space to negotiate, disagree, and decide together — and to rethink streets as shared, people-first spaces.

Being at WALK21 in Tirana, surrounded by people deeply committed to walkability, felt grounding and motivating. At MARUF, being able to imagine possible street changes together — right at the edge of what feels achievable — was just as valuable.

The abstract and presentation "How playwork can reclaim streets for public life?" can be found in the Walk21 Library
