Gregers Tang Thomsen on Açık Radyo: introducing Studio-X Istanbul
Gregers Tang Thomsen was Simon Johnson's guest on That Radio, the English-language programme on Istanbul's independent station Açık Radyo, to introduce Studio-X Istanbul in its opening months.
Run by Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Studio-X Istanbul joined an existing network of off-campus urban laboratories in New York, Amman, Mumbai, Beijing, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Tokyo. The conversation covered what the Fındıklı space was for: naming the problems Istanbul faces now and will face, and producing new ways of thinking about them. The first year was given over to research projects.
The programme was broadcast on 30 December 2013 and remains in the station's archive.
