Açık Mimarlık asks why Studio-X Istanbul should survive
With Studio-X Istanbul searching for an institutional backer, Açık Mimarlık on Açık Radyo gave the microphone to eleven people whose work had passed through the Fındıklı space and asked each of them the same question: why does it matter that this place continues?
Selva Gürdoğan and Ege Sevinçli spoke alongside Avşar Gürpınar, Ayça Ceylan, Bahar Turkay, Cansu Cürgen, Emre Senan, Evrim Altuğ, Halil Aksu, Nevzat Sayın and Sibel Çetingöz. Since 2013 the urban laboratory had hosted a long run of exhibitions, talks, workshops and research projects, describing itself as a place for naming the city's present and future problems and producing new ways of thinking about them.
