Ege Sevinçli and Beyza Gürdoğan on Açık Radyo: Designing Streets for Kids in Turkish
Ege Sevinçli and Beyza Gürdoğan were guests on Yerden Yüksek — Açık Radyo's fortnightly programme on the city, presented by Gizem Kıygı and Mehmet Kentel — to discuss the Turkish edition of Çocuklar İçin Sokaklar Tasarlamak, the Global Designing Cities Initiative's guide to designing streets for children. Superpool prepared the Turkish edition.
The conversation moved between the guide's contents, child-friendly street conversions from around the world, and one much closer to home: the play street in Yalı Mahallesi, Maltepe, opened five days before the broadcast. A neglected parking area in front of a school was turned over to children, and the conversation looked at what that change did to the neighbourhood.
