Panel
Reassembling Parts: Mental health through a transdisciplinary lens
28 Jun 2018, 19:00 – 21:00
This panel is based on the concept of the human being as a bio-psycho-social being.
In the discovery of human anatomy, the body was divided into parts and subsequently expertise was developed in each particular area to develop a better understanding. As these disciplines developed over time the relationality between these parts, ie. the wholeness or unity of the human body, became fractured and lost.
Dr. Selma Karabey, expert clinical psychologist, is one among others who is looking at new methods and perspectives to bring the human body back together again-- to better understand the human body and being as relational to society and the ecosystem in which it lives. These methods and perspectives transcend disciplinary boundaries to produce coherent investigations of the ways we move, talk, share and feel on an individual and collective scale.
This panel will take a conversational format, enlisting the audience to participate in discussing concepts such as health, mental health, society, the city and everyday needs.
This panel will be held in Turkish.
