ECOWEEK 2015 İstanbul
Contemporary Archeology

ECOWEEK is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to raise environmental awareness and to promote the principles of sustainability. It holds international conferences and design workshops which attract students and professionals from around the world and involve the participants in real projects in the host city in cooperation with the local authorities.

ECOWEEK İstanbul 2015 is one of those activities organized by Yeditepe University Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture and Yeditepe University Architecture Students Union between 20-25 April 2015. Involving into international conference and design workshops within the theme of ‘Contemporary Archeology in İstanbul’, the participants will be encouraged to work on discarded or underused buildings, infrastructures, open areas; recognize their value and potential as an architectural resource; react positively to urban, social and cultural conditions and put them back into circulation.

ECOWEEK İstanbul 2015 will start on 20th of April at Yapı-EndüstriMerkezi (YEM) with the conference presentations of Ruşen Aktaş, Anna Heringer, Elias Messinas, Marco Navarra, Teğet Mimarlık, Elisabetta Terragni and Han Tümertekin. Design workshops will be held by local and international architects, landscape architects and designers at Yeditepe University between 21-24 April. On 25th of April the projects will be presented at Studio-X Istanbul .

Designers and all students of design disciplines are welcome to opening conferences at Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi(YEM) on 20th of April and closing presentations at Studio-X İstanbul on 25th of April, both free of charge.
